Introduction Chaoyang University of Technology was founded in 1994
Introduction
Chaoyang University of Technology was founded in 1994. It is located in Taichung
County, in Central Taiwan. Due to its commitment to quality in education and
outstanding achievements, CYUT has continued to expand and now contains nineteen
departments distributed among five colleges: Management; Science &
Engineering; Design; Humanities & Social Sciences; and Informatics. CYUT
offers 2 doctoral programs and seventeen master's programs. Student enrollment
now is 14,447. The foreign students accumulate to 22 in 2005.
Admission of Foreign
Students & Academic Programs
Foreign students can apply for 4-year, 2-year (equal to 3 years of a 4-year
program), evening division, master's or doctoral programs. All departments at
CYUT accept applications from foreign students. In addition, CYUT has
established 2 all-English master's programs, including Finance and Information
Management. Foreign applicants should submit their applications to CYUT by

Scholarship/Financial
Aid/Summer Inter Programs
To encourage greater numbers of outstanding foreign students to
attend CYUT, we have created a "Foreign Student Scholarship" which
offers elite students about $790 USD (25 thousand NT Dollars) every semester.
CYUT also provides over 1,000 on-campus job opportunities, for which
International students will be given first priority. Consultation &
Assistance for Foreign Students The office of Student Affairs is responsible for
life guidance for foreign students. Consultation to assist with life in Taiwan
is provided by campus staff members. Honor students provide daily-life and
language assistance when foreign students begin their studies at CYUT.
Professors are also able to arrange after-class tutoring. In addition, some
local classmates can be grouped as a team to be study partners for foreign
students.
Career Development for
Foreign Students
According to the statistics from "Cheers" magazine in 2005, Chaoyang's
graduates are ranked number 1 by corporations for employees having graduated
from private, technological universities. This demonstrates our cultivation of
students' professionalism, education and moral character has received
recognition from corporate enterprises. Chaoyang's professional training will
allow students to combine theory with practical skills and provide a
comprehensive process for learning, which will mold student's talents and leave
them well-prepared for life in the international community.
To Expand the
International Vision, and Study the Transnational Dual Degree
Presently, our school has 36 overseas sister schools, including schools in the
USA, England, Germany, Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mongolia, and
Mainland China, and we have made the agreement for student exchange with
California Polytechnic State University, USA, University of Canberra, and Bond
University, Australia. Besides, our college of science and engineering has
signed the contract of Master's dual degree of engineering field with The
University of Sydney (in Australia), which is ranked 113th in the world, and the
contract of Master's dual degree of biotechnology with Flinders University (in
Australia), which is ranked 400th in the world. Through this kind of channel,
our students of relevant departments and graduate schools can have the chance to
study in Australia for one year, and go back to our school to study for one and
a half years. The one that accords with the graduation requirement of both
schools can acquire the Master's degree of two schools at the same time. We are
also planning to make the agreement of Bachelor dual degree with Flinders
University and Michigan Technological University (in USA) in the very near
future. Hence, the student will have the superior international competitiveness
whether continuing pursuing one's education or employment.
