Department Curriculum

The dynamic mix of courses prepares students for a career in all of the rapidly growing communications fields. The program focuses on the development of creative and technical skills in film, video, multi-media, computer and the theoretical understanding of media and culture.

The Bachelor of Arts degree may be conferred after a student majoring in Communication Arts has satisfactory completed a minimum of 128 (4-year daytime program) and 75 (3-year evening program) semester hours of coursework respectively. Within this coursework, students must satisfactorily complete:

For four-year full-time daytime students:
1. Chaoyang University of Technology Core requirements: 18 subjects 30 credits
2. Department of Communication Core requirements: 22 subjects 51 credits
3. Department of Communication Selective requirements: 40 subjects 96 credits (minimum requirement 41 credits)
4. Selective either in department of Communication Arts or other department: 6 credits

For three-year part-time evening students:
1. Chaoyang University of Technology Core requirements: 7 subjects 10 credits
2. Department of Communication Core requirements: 13 subjects 31 credits
3. Department of Communication Selective requirements: 27 subjects 59 credits (minimum requirement 30 credits)
4. Selective either in department of Communication Arts or other department: 64credits
