朝陽科技大學工業設計與產品創新技術研發中心於九十三年度經教育部獲准成立,本中心成立之宗旨在著眼於藉由專業人力的整合與相關技術的應用,從事高附加價值產品設計及評估分析,協助產業界在產品研發過程中,提供高附加價值產品的整體性評估,對於一般產品,亦可探討提升該產品本身附加價值的可行性。研發過程中,透過研發管理與協同設計的團隊運作架構,縮短商品化及技術移轉流程,進而達成產品設計與管理成本降低、分析測試流程加速等目標,以協助產業提昇產品設計創新研發能量,建立核心競爭能力。同時本計畫的實施,可培育國內高附加價值產品設計、製造與評估技術相關專業人才,厚植創新研發基礎與實力。

This center, partially sponsored by Ministry of Education, was established in 2004. It is under the administration of the Office of Research and Development of CYUT. The major mission of the unit is to integrate our university's product design and innovation resources as to assist related industries to develop advanced technologies, integrate systems, and implement test evaluations. This center also aims to provide verification environment for technological achievement transformation and thus make it as the strong support of research and development upgrades for relevant industries. There are five research and development teams in the unit: Industrial Design, Human Factor Engineering, Precision Measurement Analysis, Consumer Electronic, and Research and Development Management. The teams are composed of the specialized professors from the departments of Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering and Management, and Information and Communication Engineering.
With the integration of advanced research laboratories and high-quality instrument such as rapid vacuum casting system, 3-D scanning system, motion analysis system, virtual reality simulation system, and a variety of computer stimulation analytic software, the technology development center of industrial design and product innovation is able to fulfill prompt and professional technology development requirements of the industry.

This center emphasizes the development of product innovation technology, 3D data acquisition system and the establishment of data transformation platform, establishment of virtual operation and feedback system, applications of new materials, development of product inspection and analytic technologies, establishment of precision manufacturing analytic system, setting up of concurrent development and design environment, as well as the research and development of other technologies. With the operation of this center, cross-field resource integration experiences are cumulated. This center serves as a professional platform for the cooperation between CYUT and the industry, with the objective to assist the industry for sustainable growth.
