Road construction is
a basic task for a nation’s public construction. Along with the demands
of economical development, the increasing road constructions will
inevitably affect the ecology of natural environment. Therefore, for
protecting the natural environment in terms of establishing an
artificial environment, one essential issue raised while utilizing the
ideals of ceotechnology in road construction is how to ensure the
ecology of environment as a basis and safety as a trend in order to
eliminate the harmfulness to the ecosystem. This study considers the
execution of the life cycle each stage in road construction as a basis.
The purpose of the study is to explore the modes that execute life cycle
each stage in road construction as applying the concept of ceotechnology
in practice. The researcher reviewed ceotechnology related literature
and case studies of Taiwan and foreign countries and identified the
appropriate definition of ceotechnology, related regulations and
policies, case studies, and research findings. Based on the
understanding of road construction on the ecological environment, the
researcher generated several ideals and principles for establishing the
loop of mode and the chart of evaluation to put into the practice. After
the implementation of the aforementioned procedures, the findings
evidenced that the modes established in executing life cycle each stage
is suitable for road construction with limited time and budget while
using the concept of ceotechnology. The limitations of this study
include small scale, limited time period for investigation, and lack of
in-depth analyses on Taiwan’s road construction database, criteria for
evaluation, and related correlation. For future research, collecting
large scales of examples, conducting longitudinal study, and performing
in-depth review and analysis in case studies will improve the
generalization of the research. |
