Brief biography

Rung-Ching Chen received a B.S. and M. S. degree from the Institute of Computer Engineering, both from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. In 1998, he received a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics in computer science sessions, National Chung Tsing University, Taiwan. He was a Department Chair of Information Management in CYUT between 2005 and 2007. He was a Dean of Informatics College of CYUT from 2007 to 2015. He was the Execution Director of the Institution's Research Office from Dec. 2015 to Jan. 2017 in CYUT. He has been a Fellow of IET since 2011. He was a visiting Professor at the University of Central Florida, the U.S.A. in 2012, and a visiting researcher at the University of Aizu, Japan, in 2017. He has published more than 300 papers in computer sciences. He is the Worlds Top 2% Scientists in Computer Sciences from Scopus. He got a Best Journal Paper Award in 2022 from Image and Vision Computing(SCI, Scopus). Currently, he is a distinguished professor at the Department of Information Management, Chaoyang University of Technology, Taichung, Taiwan. His research interests include image processing, domain ontology, pattern recognition, and knowledge engineering, IoT and data analysis, the applications of Artificial Intelligent.
