IThe mission of the Division of Research and Development is to provide administrative services for all academic research activities, including research proposal applications; funding control; and awarding of research grants. The major research resources, in general, are contributed by the National Science Council and the Ministry of Education. The division's administration consists of one executive and two office clerks. The scope of their service covers all affairs related to academic research and development, including:

Planning and arranging the development of academic research |

Acting as liaison with the National Science Council for matters such as annual research projects, specific projects for undergraduate students, and specific projects for industrial cooperation |

Interacting with the Ministry of Education with regard to university development, projects for enhancing teaching quality, and projects for strengthening the students' fundamental education |
4. |
Monitoring the progress of research projects |
5. |
Chairing the meetings of the Research Award Committee (with an aim to encourage research) activities |
6. |
Taking responsibility for the "Effectiveness Interview" with the Ministry of Education |
7. |
Compiling the Research Development Reports as references for academic units |
