In the four year undergraduate program leading to a BS degree, courses were designed to offer adequate education as required by a qualified chemistry major student. Upon completing sophomore year, students are guided to choose between two major groupings, one with applications in biological systems, and the other in materials chemistry, overlapped on a solid foundation of analytical, physical and organic chemistry. In junior year, as a partial fulfillment for graduation, students are encouraged to enter a laboratory of their choice after interviewing with the professor in charge, to gain hands-on training through accomplishing a special topic as assigned by the professor. |
