Week 1

Time heals all wounds.
時間可以治療一切

這句話的意思是說：時間可以治療所有的創傷。經過一段時間後，我們就會忘記過去不好的事情。

解析：
1.“heal”是治療的意思，在這裡當動詞。因為“time”時間是單數，在這裡作第三人稱動詞變化，加了 “s”。 “wounds”則是傷口。

=>They have hated each other for a long time, but time heals all wounds.

他們彼此仇恨很久了，不過時間會使他們忘記過去的一切。

英文中，有同樣的意思的說法有：
“Time is a great healer.”；
“Time heals everything.”；
“Time cures all things.” ....

December . 2007 Week 2	*Better late than never.* 晚一些總比不做好
	這是常聽的到的一句口語，意思是: 晚一點沒關係，最怕沒有做。趕快亡羊補牢的意思。
=>When he forgot to send his girlfriend a birthday card, his friend reminded him: “Send it now; it’s better late than never.” 當他忘記寄生日卡片給他的女朋友時，他的朋友提醒他，「晚了一點總比都不做好」。英文中另外還有幾個類似的句型： “It’s better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all.” 嘗試而失敗，總比沒有嘗試好。這句話可以用在當一個人失敗的時後，勉勵他努力過了就好，結果不是最重要的。 “Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid of only standing still.”不怕走得慢，只怕停著不走。這句話用於提醒人不進則退。

December. 2007 Week 3	*The early bird catches the worm.* 早起的鳥兒有蟲吃
	這句話因為說的是真理或事實，因此動詞 “catch”為現在簡單式，因第三人稱單數的 “early bird”作變化，加上 “es”.
=>He was ahead of others because he believed the early bird catches the worm. 他遙遙領先，因為他相信捷足先登。

Week 4

Time and tide wait for no man.
歲月不饒人

這是一句英文常用的口語，尤其在有客人到家的時候，主人會請客人不要拘束，當成自己家般地放鬆。

解析：
1.句子裡的 “welcome”，在此不是指"歡迎"，而較接近「招呼」。 Yourself” 指的則是你自己，在句子裡因做複數變化，去f，加上ves，指的則是你們自己。

=> If you don’t accept the job soon, they’ll offer it to someone else. Time and tide wait for no man!

如果你不儘快接受這個工作，他們就會把工作給別人了。時間是不等人的！

解析：
1.句子裡的 “man”，指的不是男人，而泛指人類。
